Students Audio Visual Equipment (S.A.V.E) Training Program
Recognized student groups can save on the cost of technical support through the S.A.V.E. program.
The Training Program:
In a three-part training session, students can learn to operate our audio/visual equipment, eliminating the need for a Technician to operate their event. For a student group to participate in S.A.V.E., at least two representatives from the group must complete all three sessions in the training program.
Each S.A.V.E session provides two hours of intensive hands-on training:
The first session provides an overview of S.A.V.E procedures, the certification process, types of equipment and acquaints students with fundamental safety, terminology and general technical knowledge for A/V event support.
The second session is hands-on instruction, in which students practice setting, operating and striking equipment.
The final session consists of a practice and written exam, graded on a PASS/FAIL scale.
Upon successful completion of the S.A.V.E training program, student participants will be able to perform the following tasks as a S.A.V.E Technician:
Set up basic audio visual equipment properly, efficiently and safely.
Understand the fundamentals of audio which will enable them to perform audio engineering on a basic level.
Prevent noise, feedback and learn how to troubleshoot in the middle of an event efficiently.
