COVID-19 Update

For the safety and health of our community, certain outdoor spaces, including Ancell Plaza, are available as community spaces and can be reserved during designated times. This space is tented and the number of individuals using the space at one time is limited per the University's event policy.

Please review maximum occupancy numbers, which are available on our Tented & Outdoor Spaces page. It is important to follow these occupancy guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

About the Space:

Ancell Plaza is a brick-paved outdoor space located on East Campus. 

  • Maximum Occupancy: 1500 (See COVID-19 update above)
  • Nearest Restrooms: International Affairs Building, Jerome Greene Hall

Who Can Book This Venue:

Schools and departments can reserve this space during the day as detailed on our Tented and Outdoor Spaces page. Outside of those hours, the space is open to community use, following the guidelines in the University Event Policy.

Recommended Uses:

With plenty of room for tents and tables, and a paved surface, this outdoor space is ideal for formal or informal social events of any size. Ancell Plaza is available for barbecues as well as gatherings with alcohol.
