Enhancements Made to Event Management Service Based on Client Input

Your feedback is important to us. This summer, Event Management asked event planners about their experience with Catering and AV/Tech Services. Our team is responding to opportunities presented with a number of changes and new offerings.

September 20, 2024

Based on event planner feedback, clients can expect these immediate enhancements:

No minimum AV/Tech hours required for in-house technicians

When an in-house technician is assigned to your event, there will be no minimum hours required. In-house technicians are assigned first-come, first-served based on event reservations. For events where an outside technician is required, contract minimums will apply. Event planners will be advised accordingly at the time of booking.

Plus, ask our team about repackaged audio visual services made for easier ordering and to provide basic services at a lower cost.

Introducing the Columbia Combo boxed lunch

The Columbia Combo boxed lunch features a selection of “classic” sandwiches, at a more economical price of $21 per person (for large volume events at a 100 minimum). Event planners can still select from the Gourmet boxed lunch with “premium” sandwich options as well.

Introducing seasonal catering menus, starting with Fall / Winter 2024

Looking for more seasonal items and refreshed options? The catering team will now provide semesterly updates, starting with a Fall / Winter 2024 special menu selection. As always, event planners can work with their Event Management sales representative to customize based on the nature of each event. View the Columbia Catering seasonal menu.

More flexibility and versatility in menu options

In addition to seasonal catering menus, look for more flexibility and variety in our offerings. From new reception stations at different tiers and more flexible buffet selections including a plant-forward buffet menu to additional breakfast options and refreshed sandwich selections. If you don’t see something you need for your event, just talk to a sales representative for assistance or ideas.

New bagel provider: Bo’s Bagels

Announcing a partnership with Bo’s Bagels a Harlem-based and Columbia alumni-operated business, to offer true, full-sized New York bagels as part of our breakfast offerings.

Baked goods made in house

Chef Leo and the culinary team are baking in house items for breakfast, including croissants, muffins, and danishes to go with your morning coffee. Talk about starting the day off right!
