Columbia University earned an Outstanding Project Award from Learning by Design for the renovation of the Walter and Shirley Fan Wang ESPORTS Room in Wallach Hall. The award was received in the “University Renovation” category as part of Learning by Design’s Fall 2023 Architectural Interior Design Awards of Excellence competition which honors innovative and effective projects in K-12 and post-secondary education facilities across the country.

Event Management partnered with the Office of the President to support event production for all inaugural activities earlier this month when Minouche Shafik was welcomed as the 20th president of Columbia University.

Transformation of the lower-level event space in Lerner Hall, formerly called B60/Party Space, is now complete. The Wang Pavilion is a world-class performance space for musical, dance, and artist performances, and arts-related programming and activities.

First introduced in January 2020, the Sustainable Living menu was curated to feature local ingredients, focusing on vegan and vegetarian options. Menu selections are updated periodically to reflect fresh and seasonal options.  

Event Management sales team members Emerald, Emily, Koba, and Marie, along with Chef Jerome, toured Satur Farms this summer to learn more about the produce Event Management purchases for its catering menu.

Event Management hosted the School of General Studies' annual Reunion Dinner in Roone Aldridge Auditorium. 200 alumni attended, making the event the largest-scale alumni event of the year for GS. Dean Rosen-Metsch was the Master of Ceremonies and presented the Owl Award – an annual award given in recognition of outstanding service, voted on by the GS Alumni Association – to Allison Fillmore ‘97GS.
