The Lee C. Bollinger Forum and Columbia University Facilities and Operations Construction and Business Initiatives partnered with SoHarlem to bring local, creative entrepreneurs to the Manhattanville campus for a holiday market from December 18 to January 3. SoHarlem designers showcased and sold their clothing, jewelry, home décor, and other accessories at this event in the Bollinger Forum. 

Meet Ashley Dikos (MPH ‘11) and Andrew Martinez of BO’s Bagels, now featured on the Columbia catering menu. 

Ashley Dikos and Andrew Martinez didn’t think bagels were part of their “destiny,” so to speak. But a lot of customers sure are glad that’s how things worked out. BO’s Bagels, a local Harlem favorite, are now served on Columbia’s Morningside campus at catered breakfasts. Their Columbia roots and connection to the community run deep. Learn how these two entrepreneurs turned to baking.

In the first semester of the 2024-25 academic year, 105 student-organized events utilized resources available through the Event Management AV and Tech Fund. A total of $50,184 was saved, allowing student groups to reallocate funds into other aspects of their events.

Your feedback is important to us. This summer, Event Management asked event planners about their experience with Catering and AV/Tech Services. Our team is responding to opportunities presented with a number of changes and new offerings.

In an effort to help students manage costs for activities held in Lerner Hall, Event Management has set up a fund that will support AV technician expenses.

Graduation receptions are often the final moment where graduates and families mark their Columbia journey on campus. The Event Management team is a partner to schools in these celebratory toasts.

This year’s annual Winter Solstice reinvented the supper club with stunning décor, live performances from Juilliard musicians, and a newly designed tasting menu crafted by Chef Jerome Charpentier and presented through the Audio-Visual team in lieu of paper.
